Connected sources (MCP)
Notes are text you keep current by hand. A connected source is the same shelf with the maintenance removed: connect a remote Model Context Protocol server — GitHub, Linear, Sentry, Notion — and pin one of its resources to a node.
Reading — every model
Section titled “Reading — every model”A pinned resource (an issue, a page, a ticket) is read fresh from that server on every turn, so it’s always current rather than a snapshot you pasted. Same scope as a note: the node and every branch below it. This works on every model.
Acting — capable models
Section titled “Acting — capable models”Beyond reading, a connected server’s tools fold into the chat’s tool loop, so a capable model can do things on it — open the issue, not just read it. Connecting a server is a paid-plan feature, and tool use runs on the frontier models.
Connecting one
Section titled “Connecting one”Settings → Connected sources. A short gallery of popular servers fills in the URL for you; add your token and connect. Hundreds more are listed at mcpservers.org. Cymose checks the server answers before saving, and your token is stored only to replay to that server — never shown again, never logged.
